As told in Aesop’s Fable of The Crow and the Pitcher

In a spell of dry weather, when the Birds could find very little to drink, a thirsty Crow found a pitcher with a little water in it. But the pitcher was high and had a narrow neck, and no matter how he tried, the Crow could not reach the water. The poor thing felt as if he must die of thirst.

Then an idea came to him. Picking up some small pebbles, he dropped them into the pitcher one by one. With each pebble the water rose a little higher until at last it was near enough so he could drink.

The Pebble Society has been inspired by Aesop’s Fable of The Crow and the Pitcher. The world itself and our local community is FULL of need. There are non-profits seeking funds to fulfill their missions and to maintain the programming that they offer to our community.

Individually, our ability to contribute to these worthy causes would have a meaningful, but small impact. However, combined with the actions and donations of a large group of people, we can quickly see how our contributions stack and build upon one another to slowly raise the water for our thirsty non-profits.

A group of 100 people donating $50 each can quickly raise $5,000 — which would provide meaningful and immediate impact to a non-profit.

As we look toward our official launch in late September or early October, we ask you to join our mailing list so we can keep you informed of our mission and goal. Each quater, we’ll gather for approximately an hour. We’ll hear three non-profits share their stories. As a group, we’ll decide which non-profit would benefit the most by our donations. Once decided as a group, each member will make a donation DIRECTLY to that non-profit.

Our many contributions will combine to offer meaningful impact to our chosen non-profit and our community.

Each meeting will include some time for socializing and networking, followed by 5 minute presentations by up to 3 non-profits each month

We hope you become a pebble for change!
